Acknowledgement of Grant Funding
NSW GOVERNMENT LOCAL SPORT GRANT PROGRAM 23/24
In November 2023, PMTC applied for grant funding through the NSW Government’s Local Sport Grant Program 23/24, for the supply of a professional race timing system.
Some of the key objectives of program are to assist sport clubs to provide quality experiences to their members and meet community needs, increase financial sustainability and improve facilities of community level sporting clubs.
Race timing systems are now the expected Tri Club standard across Australia for all recreational (including junior, beginner or advanced) and professional triathletes alike.
A professional system would also provide accurate, timely and reliable race results to our race participants with minimised volunteer involvement (through system automation).
This need had been a top priority for our Club for several years but had unfortunately been unable to be self-funded due to the large initial costs for the system supply.
The Club was notified by the NSW Government in April 2024 of our successful application for funding under the grant program, with a total amount awarded of $15,455.85.
PMTC then proceeded with purchase and trialling of the new system ready for the commencement of the Club triathlon season in October 2024.
We are so happy to be providing this professional addition to our Club Races for the benefit of all our race participants.
